The Mercury line

Good day everybody!

It’s a while ago since I updated my blog in english, but here we go. Just wanted to make a note about my Mercury line electric guitars. Kinda funny though but they’ve become increasingly popular. That’s really very nice and a big thanks goes to all the folk’s who’ve ordered them - and I haven't even had time to build any for my own use (eg. showrooms or similar occasions) because of the orders and all the other work - repairs, pickups, teaching etc.

I guess the popularity has to do with a couple of things. First of all they have an attractive price. Without any bells and whistles the price falls well under the four number limit (799€). They are very simple and plain, the wood species are 95% of a domestic origin and most importantly, the guitars are definitely hand crafted, really.

Here are some pictures of my latest builds that haven’t found their way to the website Mercury page yet. They are actually all custom builds with many special features.

The pineapple yellow with a tortoise pickguard is from one year back and was later modified with a neck pickup.

The purple one is a really special kind of Mercury starting out with two pickups that were embedded into the pickguard. The grill covers are cool because they fit perfectly with both humbuckers and P-94s.

The red one was really, really plain which really highlights the body profile. A special treat is the Masur Birch Fretboard with a nice detail at the 12th fret. A transparent LP-style pickguard will most certainly be added to avoid wearing out the very delicate shellac finish. Last but not least, it has the mighty open cover real P-90 pickup, the "ScaT-RoLL Steampunk".

Even better, there are more Mercurys in the waiting list. Good for me, good for the Mercury model and by the way, two Mercury’s actually live outside Finland, one in Wienna and the other one in Berlin. Cool.
